There are drunken revelers across the street who have been partying since this morning. That's ... that's dedication, I gotta say. I'm only a little jealous.

BTW, did I mention I was hibernating this winter? Because apparently I did. Hi!

New computer + Animaritime over = comic page on Thursday. FINALLY. After keeping my computer in the shop for two weeks, they gave it back to me completely unworking. Like, wouldn't even turn on, unworking. After some time freaking out over whether or not a computer I had just bought was covered by a warranty that may or may not have expired, it was determined that it was indeed covered. I had it shipped to the States, and they sent me back a completely new one.

And now I'm going to forget that this ever, ever happened. I did lose a couple of things on the broken computer, but thankfully it wasn't anything major.

___________

It's official - I'm moving to Halifax in August. No more Ontario!

Should I be afraid?

___________

I haven't artdumped in a long time, so here's several months' worth of junk!

Hassan + Murphy + glasses = ??? )

The rest is Persona 4 stuff, mostly MC/Yosuke because I am a sheep )

I just want it to be known that I've said this. Well, something like it. "p < .05" has appeared in writing as a description of our relationship. He's a psych student though, so I think it actually netted me points.

Tune in next week, when we explore further depths of my geekery!

I'm currently experiencing computer difficulties, hence the absence of comic updates - my laptop is a junkpile, so I recently got a PC with enough RAM to run Photoshop properly. It almost immediately started locking up on me and resetting itself at random intervals - overheating, basically. It's in the shop. :(

When I check the temperature of my computer, a little "on fire" icon is NOT what I want to see pop up next to "CPU".

I'm in a severe art rut. That's all I'm gonna say about my fail in that regard. :\ Taking steps to get out of it.

I think it stems from a larger life rut. That's a little more difficult to get out of, unfortunately. I need to run away and do something unexpected. Nothing terrible, it's just something I need to do now and then. This is why I take random trips whenever possible! I have a high need for novelty and shiny things to look at.

Today I made 23 burnt muffins. The last 6 are in the oven, and hopefully will fare better. [EDIT: YAY!]

Is anybody else playing Persona 4? More specifically, is anyone else failing as hard as I did at completing Social Links? I finished five, not including the three that go up automatically. I feel like there was nowhere near enough time to do anything... Also I'm as dirt-poor as I was at the start. What did I do wrong? T___T

Christmas break is going well. :3 Merry Chrimmas youse guys!

Things could be quieter, as usual. As I've said many a time after my visits home, I'm too used to isolation and prolonged silence to cope with a busy house, a four-year-old, a yappy dog, and (significantly more importantly) nowhere to hide. But it's a neat change of pace, so I can deal with it for a couple of weeks two or three times a year.

I've been reduced to skimming my flist every few days while I'm here, so communication has been at almost a standstill on my end. D: It's hard to keep up since I'm out of the house most days. I'll be back in Ontario by Tuesday night though, so I'll play catchup when I get there.

Can't wait to get back to drawing and Persona 4! :D Commissions and comic pages om nom nom.

Tonight is prep for our Christmas host cafe event tomorrow, although it will be significantly less work than the usual ones. We're just having some of the regulars at a house and eating yummy food. :3 Mmmm yummy food and cross-dressing. I love Christmas!

People make me go

:|

But not internet-people, you guys are cool.

There are days when I feel like I should just wear a sign around my neck when I leave the house that reads "INTROVERT: DO NOT APPROACH". ... But then I wouldn't have any friends. All the friends I've made in the last five years or so have more or less gone "I'M GOING TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOU, K?" for reasons my introvert brain can't comprehend. But that's why I love them. &hearts

Where was I.

YES. PEOPLE. Mostly mall-related people. :| And bus-related people. *fist-shaaaake*

IN OTHER NEWS. Look at what I'm making for Animaritime!

To go with Jackie's SUPER-HAWT Yoko costume, raaawr.

Also.

My kitties. Let me show you them. )

One thing I will definitely miss about Waterloo when I'm gone is the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema. I only got out to see two films this year (which is twice as many as I managed last year!) but I am so glad this thing exists. I saw Nocturna Friday night, and it's an amazingly beautiful movie, a neat little story and so very easy on the eyes. There is a main character whose job it is literally to herd cats, and I loved him very much. If you find this movie anywhere, pick it up, I promise it's worth your time!

Today I went back and watched the first part of Genius Party, which was mostly good. Anthologies are always hit-and-miss, pretty much by their very nature, but there was only one that I didn't like at all (even then it was at least visually appealing).

:( I'll miss you WFAC. Maybe I'll come back some other year!

Poor Haru can has a battle wound. It started as a bite from Caboose, and he kept scratching at it until it got bad and gross-looking. Then the vet shaved all the fur around it, so it's plainly visible and EWWWWWasdfasdfwtfwtfwtf. It looks like he's got some kind of zombie-plague, although the vet assures me he'll be all right if I keep medicating him (which he hates, of course, because he's a cat). I don't want to keep looking at it, but I KNOW IT'S THERE sdfsdfkj. He looks totally normal, and then just turns his head slightly and FUCK FUCK YOU'RE CONTAGIOUS DON'T BITE ME.

I'd take a picture, but it's ... it's disgusting. And I don't think he'd appreciate the extra indignity. It looks pretty painful, but he didn't even flinch when I put the medication on it, so hopefully he can put up with it for a few more days while it heals.

At least he didn't have to get a cone on his head!

Soooo I disappeared for most of the summer! It turns out I really could have relaxed more about ... everything, but I chose to worry instead, making the summer a lot less enjoyable than it should have been. But things are cool now, or at the very least, as cool as they're going to get.

I went home twice, once in June, and once in August. Still miss it a lot, but now it'll be less than a year and I'll be done with Ontario FORRRRREVAHHHHH. The plan is to finish the thesis by July and move to Halifax in August, even if it means I have to fly back later for the defense. It's not home home, but it's close enough. Honestly, I don't much care where I end up, I've just had it with Waterloo. Hooray!

So now the summer's gone, and I'm trying to turn my thoughts to thesising and research and blah blah blah. This will require enthusiasm. Do they package that yet?

...

BUT THAT'S THE SUNDAY BLAHS TALKING.

There's lots to look forward to, really. Probably going to be taking up archery in addition to kenjutsu this year, some concerts are going on, going home in December ... lots of drawing to be done! It'll be good.

Maybe I will learn to stay off the internets while under the influence, but if last night was any indication, I don't see that happening.

TTGL fanart whoooo!

Everything is lined up for AX except my ... um ... plane ticket. WOW I SHOULD GET ON THAT. D: Jeebus this summer is flying by, not good not good. Whatever. I'm going home for a couple of days next week. &hearts It's been almost six months since my last visit! It certainly didn't feel like that, probably because Animaritime and Anime North let me see my friends without going all the way home. It'll be awesome to see my family again for a few days though. :3

I'm leaving for Toronto in about an hour and I'm still in my jammies.

:D

Sadness: I don't think I can make it to Cafe Nocturne this year. I have stuff that conflicts with all of their time slots. Not even Alley stuff! Mostly scheduled eating and dancing times. (Yes, I've worked the entire weekend around food and dancing. I wish this were a lie.) Maybe if I'm quick I get get a reservation made for Sunday, because cross-dressing ladies are important too. :|

All right - food and then clothes and then con time is GO! &hearts

WHOOOOOOOO BC was fabulous. D: Wow. ... I didn't even do all that much there.

But I could smell seaweed immediately after stepping outside the airport. SJfaskdl;jfldj OCEAN. OCEAN, I MISSED YOU. You're a totally different ocean than the one I'm used to but I LOVE YOU ANYWAY. I've never appreciated the stench of seaweed more than I did that day.

There were also trees ... everywhere. And the air was great - Ontario is so unbearably dry, I'm thirsty ALL THE TIME here. I've been home all of two hours and I'm already thirsty again. It was nice to spend a week not getting dehydrated just by sitting around the house.

Yes. Spent a day in Vancouver, an evening driving through mountainous regions, a day at a wedding, and the rest of the time was spent playing video games and sketching and lounging. I really needed that.

And now I have five days to get my shit together and DRAW SOMETHING FOR AN before Jackie arrives and THEN IT'S AN TIME WTF.

I feel like I haven't stopped moving in like, a month.

My deepest apologies for ... this. Nonsense. I'm tired. Oh my.

The day I left, I discovered that I got a (low) A on that 100% paper I was busting my ass to get done, so, YES. Whatever, I'll take it.

Also wik: I CRACKED AND BOUGHT A CINTIQ ... monitor-tablet ... thing. IT'S GETTING DELIVERED TOMORROW. D: D: D: D:

O-okay sleep time now

Pffffft I've been speed reading articles for like, two days straight. I've reached a point of being so tired that when I come across fantastic pieces of arguments I just write "OH SNAP" in the margins as shorthand for "this is useful, don't forget this, stupid!"

Can't wait for Monday so I can be rid of this paper. You have no idea. Unless you're also writing, then you ... have an idea. The last couple of weeks have been hell. Just... really need to get past this, and then hash out stuff for AN with [info]strayfish, and then maybe I can breathe. XD;

On the upside, comic will be done for Thursday because it's an easy one. I decided to end the chapter next page. Good a spot as any. I also planned out the next two chapters, which... whoa, what? That's a first! D: I can start to see an end, although it'll probably take another 200 pages to get there. But this is the first time I've felt like there is an end on the horizon, so it feels monumental to me!

I also recently learned there is magical scholarship money available to me for next year. Niiiiiiiiice.

ALRIGHT BACK TO READING GOOD NIGHT

Today. Was. Amazing.

My kenjutsu test was this morning, and despite almost throwing my guts up at one point, it went fine and I passed and it was awesome. Then it was dinner with Sensei and the other students in the evening, and Jackie Chan/Jet Li movie afterward for the lulz. XD Improvised game of Twister on the theatre arcade's floor. Randori in the parking lot. Good times. :D

I-I also may have shed a tear at the end of the movie when Jackie Chan is all like, "The student and master walk side by side for a time until their paths go separate ways." BAAAAWWWWWW way to make me wibble, Jackie Chan. We'll all miss Sensei, hardcore. :( Th-that's the only reason I got teary-eyed at that ridiculous movie! That's practically cheating. Doesn't count.

Today was my day off, even though I didn't have much time to myself. Back to work tomorrow, but at least this is the last paper! Should be able to get Sunday's page done with no difficulty. &hearts Sleep now.

Is this a Firefox kind of glitch?

Whenever I open a link in a new window, and then click on a link in that new window, I can't hit the back button. It drives me crazy. It works when I open a new tab, but I don't like using them so much. I'm a real "open link in new window" fiend, so this is kind of debilitating at times. :(

Halp?

Anime Expo artist alley table GET. *thumbs up!*

Four days of con though. Hmm. I'm usually ready to crash by the second day or so, and this is a new con for me, and I'll be staying with CRAZIES so it'll be doubly exciting/exhausting. I'll need an attack plan of some kind.

Supposed to be flying to LA with Clover and Aindel and ... Bubbles, if he's not dead in a Quebec ditch somewhere since no one has seen him in months? :\

I've been fried lately - was so physically exhausted yesterday evening that I felt like I was going to keel over and die. Today was better, but I've been worn out since about 8:00. Just picking away at Thursday's comic, since I seem to be on a roll and don't want to break it!

Kenjutsu exam in three weeks, sure wish I had somewhere to practice that isn't my backyard where the neighbours can see me hurrrrrr

Re: Smash Bros Brawl:

...

......

W-Why do I suddenly like Cpt. Falcon?

The online multiplayer thing is handy, since all the people I've historically played with are now in different provinces, but there's no means of communication, which = :( I have to rely on messenger, which I dislike using because of my unstable internet connection.

Also, I think I accidentally post-match trashed-talked someone last time thinking s/he was someone else.

...I'm too ashamed to go ask who they are now.

Two more weeks of classes. Finally... it's been a rough term, as evidenced by my spotty update schedule as of late. Just need to churn out two papers and then figure out what the hell to do about the thesis next year, and all will be just fine. &hearts
